Sesame attacks Hunger

One in four children in the United States is food insecure, not knowing when their next meal will be. This special episode of Sesame Street broaches the issue of hunger, how to gently educate children, as well as providing clear and easy actions to take.

A little bit of positive messaging about a serious issue and ways to attack it. Way to go, Elmo!

Air date for the Special is October 9th, 2011.

One Response to “Sesame attacks Hunger”

  1. When I walk around school in the morning, I always see the lunch ladies dropping these big bags of dozens of smaller bags in front of all the classrooms. I finally asked someone about it. It’s all the breakfasts. Typically the only kids who get breakfast are free and reduced. Every classroom has a brown grocery bag full of breakfasts for the kids. (except mine, I only have four students) That’s a lot of K-5 graders who need assistance.
